Recycled Tire Rubber in Additive Manufacturing: Selective Laser Sintering for Polymer-Ground Rubber Composites

نویسندگان

چکیده

Natural and synthetic rubber is gaining increased interest in various industrial applications daily life sectors (automotive industry, acoustic electrical isolators, adhesives, impermeable surfaces, others) due to its remarkable physicomechanical properties, excellent durability, abrasive resistance. These great characteristics are accompanied by some recycling difficulties of the final products, particularly originated from tire waste industry. In this study, recycled was incorporated polymer matrices using selective laser sintering as 3D printing technology. Two polymers were used-polyamide thermoplastic polyurethane, for their rigid elastomeric respectively. Polymer composites containing powder amounts, up 40 wt.%, prepared physical blending. The materials’ morphological characteristics, mechanical thermal stability evaluated. proposed ambitious additive manufacturing approach looked over also major aspects be considered during procedure. addition, examples printed prototypes with potential revealing rubber-loaded composites.

Hazardous organic chemicals in rubber recycled tire playgrounds and pavers.

In this study, the presence of hazardous organic chemicals in surfaces containing recycled rubber tires is investigated. Direct material analyses using solvent extraction, as well as SPME analysis of the vapour phase above the sample, were carried out. Twenty-one rubber mulch samples were collected from nine different playgrounds. In addition, seven commercial samples of recycled rubber pavers ...

Rubber friction and tire dynamics.

We propose a simple rubber friction law, which can be used, for example, in models of tire (and vehicle) dynamics. The friction law is tested by comparing numerical results to the full rubber friction theory (Persson 2006 J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 18 7789). Good agreement is found between the two theories. We describe a two-dimensional (2D) tire model which combines the rubber friction model wi...

Hyperelastic Modeling of Rubber-Like Photopolymers for Additive Manufacturing Processes

This chapter addresses design issues of components realized with rubber-like PhotoPolymers (PP) recently introduced in Rapid Prototyping. In particular, the determination of accurate, hyperelastic, constitutive models which describe the PP behavior is discussed in detail. In fact, Stereolithography and Polyjet processes allow the production of highly flexible objects by using photosensitive res...

occupational risk assessment of benzene in rubber tire manufacturing workers

tire manufacturing industry has a history of more than half a century in iran, where 14 thousand workers are employed. the old and semi-automated processes equipment, backward technology, and raw materials impurity lead to significant exposures to occupational carcinogens such as benzene. this study was to assessment of benzene exposures and evaluation the resulting cancer risk in two tire-manu...
